India and Bangladesh have made a pivotal move to strengthen cross-border ties by agreeing to enhance infrastructure and operational efficiency at their land ports. This decision was reached during the 6th Subgroup meeting between the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) and the Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA), with the shared goal of boosting regional connectivity and trade.
Led by Sanjeev Gupta from India and Tahmina Yeasmin from Bangladesh, the meeting featured productive discussions on improving port facilities, speeding up export cargo processing, and creating unified operational strategies for land ports. Both parties underscored the importance of supporting mutual trade interests and advancing regional economic objectives.
Key topics included advancing infrastructure projects at select ports, enabling transit for Bangladeshi trucks to nearby countries, and setting up 24/7 operational capabilities at strategic locations. These initiatives reflect a commitment by India and Bangladesh to strengthen bilateral relations and foster regional economic growth.
