Hapag-Lloyd Announces Rate Increase for Middle East & Indian Subcontinent to North America

Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI)/General Rate Adjustment (GRA) for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to North America. Effective from 15 January 2025, the GRI of $1,000 per 20′ or 40′ containers will apply to dry, reefer, and special containers, including high cube equipment.

The affected regions include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, and other Middle Eastern countries, with destinations in the United States and Canada. This adjustment will remain in effect until further notice.
