In a notification, the CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes) stated that the government has exempted customs duty on imports of Covid 19 vaccines until March 31, 2023. This has come during a time when there is a slight surge in cases and it’s a gesture to ensure the availability of vaccines amid fears of the surge in corona infections. This customs duty exemption is also applicable to the state governments that are importing covid 19 vaccine materials.
With new variants significantly rising daily in specific countries, including our neighboring country China, the government has re-introduced precautionary measures.
