Budget 2023: Govt hikes spending on dedicated freight corridors and logistics infrastructure

The budget 2023-24 has been rewarding for freight corridors & logistics services as Govt. has increased the spending. The finance ministry has ballparked Rs. 27,482 cr to the DFCC (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India) which is up by Rs. 15710 Cr. allocated the previous financial year.
Out of the total amount, Rs 12,241 Cr is provided by the central govt. and the balance will be funded via DFCC internal accruals as per the budget documents.
Till now, in 2022-23, the government has provided Rs 14,897 crore as budget funding to the DFCC, exceeding the provision of Rs 12,134.73 crore provided in the Budget of 2022-23 against the central government.
Overall, the DFCC has spent Rs 33,315.71 crore as capital expenditure in 2022-23, much higher when compared to Rs 12,544 crore spent in 2021-22.
