The company has called on shipping companies to submit expressions of interest (EOI) for LNG bunkering services in Panama, as it plans to begin operations in March 2025.

A notice was issued to shipping agents, vessel owners, and operators of LNG-powered vessels transiting the Panama Canal or visiting ports on the Atlantic side of Panama. The company is inviting potential clients to open discussions, reserve bunkering slots, and negotiate contract terms, including service scope, operational details, supply logistics, and pricing.

The deadline for submitting EOIs is November 15, 2024, with agreements expected to be finalized in January 2025. LNG bunkering operations in Panama are set to begin in March 2025.

As part of this project, Seaspan will deploy its newly built LNG bunkering vessel, Seaspan Garibaldi, with a capacity of 7,600 cubic meters. After delivery, the vessel will sail to Vancouver to load its first cargo and complete final commissioning.
